is r elat ed t o a wid er r ange o f pat hologica l condit ions. i nd eed , 
it has been not ed t hat anxiet y sen sit ivit y may play a role in mediat 
in g nega t ive exp er iences and sensat io ns asso ciat ed wit h pain. 
the aim of t he presen t study was t o det er min e the effect of anxiet y 
sensit ivit y on r ep ort ed negat ive sen sat ions t o exp er iment ally 
induced pain. measu res of pain t hr eshold and t oler ance were t aken , 
as were self-rep or t mea sures of affective and sen sor y exp er iences. 
beca use differen ces bet ween males and females have been fo und wit h both 
anxiet y sen sit ivity a nd pain exp er ience, gen der differen ces wer e also 
investiga t ed. as exp ect ed, gen der was found to moder at e pain exp er iences. 
females had a lower pain t hresh old and wer e less t oler ant to p ain t han males.
